Valentine's Day and Football

I know this is a quick succession to my last post. The introduction was not much to read, so..... Anyways, people say loving a partner and loving football is two different kind of feelings. I would have to disagree with that statement. I know both (love for partner and love for football) has it's passion, emotion, both certainly takes up time and money and heartbreak is a package that comes with them. And yes, we have to dress up properly for attending football matches or a date. Really, I know my point stands pretty well. Well some of these people still don't get it. Below is an extract from the Metro (page 53, February 14, 2008) titled 'If football be the food of love, play on'. The research was made on 1,500 football fans in the UK to mark Valentine's Day.

- 76 percent quizzed would rather lose their girlfriend than their club.
- 85 percent would choose to watch their club over a romantic Valentine's date.
- 44 percent would buy their girlfriend fake goods but 82 percent wouldn't buy a fake football kit for themselves.
- 42 percent would find it more hurtful to watch their club get beaten by their arch-rivals in the FA Cup final than to know their girlfriend has cheated on them with their best friend.
- 42 percent would never go out with a girl who supports their arch-rivals.
- 78 percent would rather score for their club in the Cup final than with their dream girl.
- Men will spend on average 80.85 pounds watching their team away but only 51.85 on a date.

With that said, no wonder clubs and players are getting richer and have an increasing fan base. And now that you know ladies, you could either join the guys or date professional footballers. But you ladies can always offer to pick your man up to watch live football at your place and have the television set hidden (that is if you are just so desperate).

Enough said. Check me out soon.

Enjoy,
