Heya,
That was some weekend for me. You can say lose some, win some, but for me it was awesome (and that has got to be very lame). The lose part is Manchester United FA Cup campaign was ended by Portsmouth. Nyeh, shouldn't have put Rio in the goal. Might as well left it empty and I bet even cool headed Luis Figo would miss. The win part was my weekend.
Leicester
Reached Leicester around 8pm and Ariffin (with his new hair style) picked me up and we went down to the coach station to pick up his sister. When we reached Ariffin's place I was shocked with the face his house is right in front of the prison...
Prison break isn't gonna get easier than this.
The interior is great. Housemates (Wana, Yusreza, Icham and Sharon) were fun and the BruLeics people doubles the fun. There was a short briefing on the organization of the BruLeics Games attended by BruLeics people and 4 BiBers (Myself, Razan, Nisa and Diyana) and some others from different places (Mizah, Peanut, Rory, Riduan and some more). And thank you all in the briefing for the momentary embarrasing moment of being booed for wanting the event to finish early (because I have a train to catch to London for the ICUBS play). Tsk tsk tsk.
After that everyone went back to their respective places to continue preparing for the event. Ariffin served us with Smoked Salmon Frittata. Damn... I thought it was some kind of crisp or biscuit. Its a PASTA!!! Tastes good despite the name. Highlight of the night is helping out the BruLeics prepare food to be sold during the event. Helped them a little (very little) to make cookies, cup cakes (both by Sabreena), burgers (by Yusreza), hotdog (by Wana) and carrot cake (by Maskuwin). Thats Mashady and his girlfriend's bakery. Did my part by accompanying them till they are done (around 3.30 am).
Fast forward; Woke up at 6.45am, ready to go at 8.55am, arrived Mashady's place (gathering place) to help carry stuffs into the car for transport to venue and arrived at venue at around 10.30am. All teams arrive and reported in and everyone is good to go. BruLeics (representatives: Myself, Mashady, Fadhil, Yusreza, Riduan and Shazwi) first game is against BruNotts. We started on a high leading 2-0 with red hot Fadhil scoring both the goals. My last minute I-didn't-see-it-coming mistake led to a goal.
Second game (tired legs already) was a goal fest against BruLeeds where 8 good goals were scored. The game ended in a tie. Third game was a loss to BruManch (eventual champions) 2-0. Sprained my ankle in a challange and hurt my rib in an attempt to block a goalward shot. Fourth game we lost again against BruWick 4-2 with us having to be trailing 4-0 at half time. The last game was against LufBru where its the highest scoring match of the day. 5-5 was the final score with Mashady receiving a lobbed ball from the back and blasting a half volley to the top corner as THE goal of the day for me. I'd personally say that Fadhil was in red hot form as he scored most of our goals while Mashady was efficient. As for me, it was a way below par performance as the decisions I made and my mistakes lead to goal and we failed to win games which we could have. Sorry guys for my mistakes and thanks for keeping me in the field!
Injured myself, tire the hell out of myself, got elbowed in the chin and had to 'open' shower in the guys changing room; but its all worth it. To sum it all up, it was a fun event with good laughs and funny moments. Sorry BruWick guys for making you guys and the taxi driver wait for me as I showered and got ready for ICUBS Night.
